These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the CastMyDoc service.

Preamble
The purpose of these General Terms and Conditions of Use (hereinafter the "GTCU") is to define the terms and conditions of use of the CastMyDoc service accessible at castmydoc.com (hereinafter the "Service").
The Service is published by François Bellay, entrepreneur individuel, SIREN 992 148 122, whose registered office is located at 4 Allée Sagardi, 64600 Anglet, France (hereinafter "the Publisher").
Use of the Service implies full acceptance of these GTC. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read these T&Cs and agree to abide by them.
Article 1 - Purpose of the service
CastMyDoc is an online service that allows users to :
- Upload PDF files to the platform
- Create real-time presentation sessions
- Share a link with viewers so that they can view the PDF
- Synchronize navigation between host and guests
- Manage presentation progress (page changes, rotation)
The Service is accessible free of charge to any user with Internet access and a compatible web browser.
Article 2 - Access to the service
2.1. Access conditions
The Service is accessible to any individual or legal entity legally capable of entering into a contract. Minors must obtain authorization from their legal representatives before using the Service.
2.2 Free service
Access to the Service is currently free of charge. The Publisher reserves the right to offer fee-based services in the future, subject to prior notice to users.
2.3 Internet connection
The user is responsible for his/her Internet connection and the equipment required to access the Service. Internet access costs are the sole responsibility of the user.
2.4. Service availability
The Publisher endeavors to ensure that the Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but cannot guarantee continuous availability. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance or updating, or in the event of force majeure.
Article 3 - User obligations
By using the Service, the user agrees to :
3.1. Intended use
- Use the Service fairly and in accordance with its intended purpose
- Not to disrupt or attempt to disrupt the operation of the Service
- Not to use the Service for illegal or fraudulent purposes
- Respect the intellectual property rights of the Publisher and third parties
3.2 Uploaded content
The User warrants that he/she has all necessary rights to the PDF files that he/she uploads to the Service. He/she undertakes not to upload :
- Illegal, defamatory, offensive or contrary to public decency
- Infringing on the intellectual property rights of third parties
- Containing viruses, malware or any other malicious code
- Violating the GDPR or any other data protection regulation
- Pornographic, child pornography or incitement to violence
3.3. Limitation of use
To guarantee the quality of the Service, the following limitations apply:
- Maximum PDF file size: 50 MB
- Upload limit: 5 files per hour per IP address
- Session retention period: 4 hours maximum
⚠️ Warning: Any breach of these obligations may result in the immediate suspension or removal of access to the Service, without notice or compensation.
Article 4 - Liability and guarantees
4.1. User responsibility
The user is solely responsible for:
- Content uploaded to the Service
- The use he makes of the Service and the sessions he creates
- Sharing links communicated to third parties
- The security of your equipment and Internet connection
4.2 Responsibility of the Publisher
The Publisher is a host within the meaning of the French law on confidence in the digital economy (LCEN). As such:
- The Publisher exercises no a priori control over the content uploaded by users.
- The Editor cannot be held responsible for content uploaded by users.
- The Publisher undertakes to promptly remove any manifestly illicit content that is brought to its attention.
4.3. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". The Publisher does not warrant:
- That the Service will be free of errors, bugs or interruptions
- That the Service will meet specific user requirements
- Continuous and uninterrupted availability of the Service
- Data retention beyond 4 hours
In no event shall the Publisher be liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Service, including, without limitation :
- Data loss
- Loss of sales or profits
- Business interruption
- Damage to the user's computer equipment
4.4 Force majeure
The Publisher cannot be held responsible in the event of force majeure or circumstances beyond its control (breakdowns, cyber attacks, natural disasters, etc.).
Article 5 - Intellectual property
5.1. Ownership of the Service
The Service, its structure, design, source code and all its components (text, images, logos, graphics, scripts) are the exclusive property of the Publisher and are protected by copyright and database law.
Any unauthorized reproduction, representation, modification, publication or transmission of the Service or its elements is prohibited and constitutes an infringement punishable by the French Intellectual Property Code.
5.2. Ownership of user content
The user retains full intellectual property rights to the PDF files uploaded to the Service.
By uploading a file, the user grants the Publisher a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to :
- Temporarily store the file on the servers
- Allow authorized viewers to view the file
- Carry out the technical operations required to operate the Service
This license expires automatically when the file is deleted (maximum 7 days after upload).
Article 6 - Personal data
data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The data collected is limited to what is strictly necessary for the operation of the Service:
- Uploaded PDF files
- First names of spectators (stored locally)
- Session data (identifier, current page, rotation)
- IP addresses (for rate limiting only)
This data is kept for a maximum of 7 days (1 hour for IP addresses) and is automatically deleted.
Article 7 - Duration and termination
7.1. Duration
These GCU apply for the duration of the User's use of the Service.
7.2. Termination by the user
The user may stop using the Service at any time, without notice or formality. He/she simply needs to stop accessing the Service.
7.3. Termination by the Publisher
The Publisher reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user's access to the Service in the event of :
- Violation of these GCU
- Upload of illegal or immoral content
- Fraudulent or abusive use of the Service
- Non-compliance with usage restrictions (size, frequency)
Such suspension or cancellation may occur without notice or compensation.
Article 8 - Modification of the GCU
The Publisher reserves the right to modify these TOU at any time. The modifications will come into effect as soon as they are published on the Site.
In the event of substantial modification, the Publisher will inform users by means of a notice visible on the Site.
Continued use of the Service after modification of the GCU constitutes acceptance of the new GCU.
Article 9 - Applicable law and jurisdiction
9.1. Applicable law
These GCU are governed by French law.
9.2 Amicable settlement of disputes
In the event of a dispute relating to the interpretation or execution of these GCU, the parties agree to seek an amicable solution before taking any legal action.
The user may contact the Publisher at contact@castmydoc.com with any complaints.
9.3. Consumer mediation
In accordance with article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, if you are a consumer and no amicable solution has been found, you may have free recourse to a consumer mediator.
9.4. Jurisdiction
Failing amicable resolution, any dispute will be brought before the competent courts in accordance with the rules of common law.
